Spring/Summer 2022
Mood Board
For my mood board I was very inspired by Latin Culture & Vintage Hollywood actresses in the
1940s -1960s. A natural femme fatale in both worlds.
Growing up from girl to woman I made an effort to merge the two aesthetics. My vision of a glamourous being. Effortless and free.
She is not perfect but nevertheless she is irresistible.
Color Scheme
For as long as I could remember my color was pink. Feminine, Kind and Gentle. But when I finally wanted to do something great with my life I was revisited with this color of cranberry red. I experimented with the tones and values. I played up the violet, purple and all shades of warm brown. As well as orange but I discovered early on that It wouldn't fill my craving of red.
Fabrics
Picking out a fabric has always been an intimate experience for me. Lost in a focus, on a mission to find the perfect texture, stretch and color.
I chose these three quality cottons for the core colors of the collection. I didn't want to include a harsh black into the collection, so I made an exception of cool and warm greys.
Sketches
These are my outline sketches I designed 2 dresses,
4 tops, 2 skirts and 2 bottoms. I am in love with these designs there is an outfit for every occasion my ideal client would go. Possibly on a getaway trip or a more romanticized life. A casually sexy dress to dance around in. A fitted two-piece set for an evening feast.
Prototype
This is my prototype of a gathered fabric and hem lines. I got more experience with stretch fabric and found a new method of gathering.
Final Products
I would say that I am very proud of my work because I started and followed through with my idea. I envisioned my collection to be my new personal style in this next chapter of my life. I strive to embrace my Latin culture. I also deep dived into learning about my own body type, complexion, and compliment colors.
